High School Basketball Registration Deadline
November 1, 2021
It’s time to sign up for High School Basketball!
Registration – Deadline is Monday, November 1. On the registration form, feedback is requested on how transportation will work to away games this season. Please read the following Winter Transportation Pro/Con List and then submit feedback when completing registration.
HS Basketball Paperwork – Remember that all paperwork must also be completed and submitted to the ALCS business office before the first day of practice. Athletes who do not have their paperwork turned in will not be allowed to practice! The most important piece that can delay high school athletes is the physical/alternate year card.
In the above Paperwork link, there are 4 forms required for High School sports participation. These include the WIAA Eligibility Bulletin, Physical or Alternate Year Card (read below to know which one should be completed for your athlete), Participation Contract, and Concussion Agreement. If you have already played a HS fall sport at ALCS this school year, the only form needed is the Participation Contract. ALCS strongly prefers paper copies be turned in to their business office, since electronic pictures of documents have formatting issues. If you have questions, please contact Luanne Koon (lkoon@alcs.us).
About Physicals: WIAA requirements is that schools must have an updated physical examination on file in their athletic office for all student athletes. It is not sufficient to have had a physical done, but that a copy of the physical form is on file. Misunderstanding of this delays athletes participation every sports season. The physical on file needs to be dated no earlier than April 1, 2020. Schedule now if you need to update it or contact your health provider right away for a copy if you have had one done, but don’t have a form copy on file. In most (but not all) cases, the new physical needs to be obtained before participating in sports in 9th and 11th grades. If you don’t need an updated physical, the alternate year card is required.
Required Parents Meeting: November 2, 6:30-7:30pm in the ALCS Library. This is for both boys and girls teams.
First day of practice for girls: November 8 (coach: Taylor Renz)
First day of practice for boys: November 15 (coach: Mike Thies)
The season will go through late February for girls and early March for boys.
