Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Marlow first experienced Latin and Greek in high school, setting the tone for the rest of his academic career. He went on to major in Classics with a certificate in Medieval Studies at Princeton University, followed by graduate work at Oxford University, where he earned a Master of Studies in Theology, studying St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, and St. Anselm.
Upon returning to the States, he has spent the past decade teaching geometry, music, Latin, Ancient Greek, and medieval history. He also brings a keen appreciation for extra-curriculars such as drama and athletics, having previously directed the senior play and calling rugby games at the academy where he most recently taught.
At St. Ambrose, Marlow teaches Latin and Math. Outside of the classroom, you’ll find Marlow enjoying baseball games, playing golf, and hanging out with friends. Of all the destinations he’s been able to visit, Ravenna, Italy, is “without a doubt a favorite place.” Marlow is drawn to its beautifully preserved, rare Byzantine mosaics from the Late Antique period (of which he is quite fond). Plus, it’s not as crowded as Rome!
