Matt Regner

Music

“Everybody has the potential to become a musician. It’s just a matter of discovering your strengths and having someone take the time to nourish them.”

St. Ambrose welcomes Matt Regner to its music department. Music has been a long-time interest of Matt’s. Over the years, he has learned to play several instruments, including: the piano, string bass, trombone, guitar, balalaika (Russian folk instrument), and pipe organ.

Currently the Director of Liturgy and Evangelization at Blessed Sacrament Parish, Matt has also led multiple choirs at the parish, as well as the co-ed a cappella group at UW-Madison. Additionally, he has taught at his parish and the diocese and served as a teaching assistant at Notre Dame. He holds a master’s degree in theology from the University of Notre Dame and bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and Russian Language and Literature from UW-Madison.

Matt and his wife have four children. They are long-time members of a charismatic Catholic community in Madison. In their free time, Matt and his family enjoy hiking, riding bikes, and exploring Madison.
