Jacob Harron joins St. Ambrose Academy with a deep background in Catholic education and a passion for forming students through theology, philosophy, literature, and the liberal arts. Originally from Aurora, Illinois, Jacob attended Catholic schools throughout his education, including Marmion Academy, an all-boys Catholic high school with a military program. He later studied Theology and Philosophy at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, where the example of his professors inspired him to pursue a career in education.

Jacob previously taught at a classical Catholic school in Atlanta, teaching students in grades 7–12 in subjects including Classical Literature, Modern Literature, Short Stories, Film and Literature, and Theology. He has also served with Camp Gray, which first drew him to Wisconsin, and Love Begins Here in the Diocese of Madison. After spending the past year discerning the priesthood, Jacob is excited to return to the classroom and become part of the St. Ambrose community.

Outside of teaching, Jacob enjoys fishing, golf, ultimate frisbee, running, swimming, reading, movies, and road trips.

He especially values face-to-face relationships and looks forward to getting to know St. Ambrose students and their families both in school and at events and sporting activities. He is excited to bring his love of the Catholic faith, literature, and learning to the classroom while continuing to grow as a teacher and lifelong student. “There are so many ideas I have had for club activities, novels to read, or long-term plans here in the Diocese for education,” said Jacob, “Because the students at St. Ambrose have a love for learning, our mutual creativity can really produce a fruitful environment.”
