Gia Smith

History and Religion

“What I am most excited about in joining St. Ambrose is the students. I look forward to the privilege of helping guide and form them, both academically and spiritually, during this important stage of their lives.”

St. Ambrose Academy is delighted to welcome Gia Smith, a new history and religion teacher, to our team this year!

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Gia recently graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with degrees in Political Science and Theology. Her love of learning extends far beyond the classroom – she enjoys cooking, reading, exploring fashion, visiting museums, studying history, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity.

At the heart of Gia’s faith and studies is a deep passion for Mariology. She is especially devoted to total consecration to Jesus through Mary, following the writings of St. Louis de Montfort. Gia treasures the dogmas and doctrines of the Blessed Virgin and finds joy in sharing about the confirmed apparitions of Our Lady.

In fact, Gia was drawn to St. Ambrose by its mission, which is itself rooted in the message of Our Lady of Champion to “Go into the wilderness, gather the children, and teach them what they need to know for their salvation.”

Gia sees this mission as a powerful expression of her own love for the Catholic faith and is eager to embrace it in her teaching.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Gia to the St. Ambrose Academy community!
