About

Our New Home

Thanks to the generous support of many through the Christ Our Light capital campaign, St. Ambrose Academy moved into our new home located within the iconic Holy Name Heights property, on Madison’s west side in summer 2024!

After many successful years educating students in locations that lacked sufficient space and amenities, we are excited to call 702 S. High Point Road in Madison our home. Below are renderings of the new school, the existing Holy Name Heights oratory, and some progress photos of our educational spaces. More information will be shared in the coming months and we cannot wait for our school families, alumni, and many supporters to see this space in person!

The Holy Name Heights Oratory

Progress Photos – Summer 2024

In the new St. Ambrose Academy you’ll find:

  • two large floors of furnished classrooms, science labs and prep rooms, a dedicated art/music room, study spaces, offices, a faculty break room, a meeting room, a library, a reception space and security vestibule at our entrance, and storage space
  • a small oratory within our school property, for ready access to the Blessed Sacrament during the day for prayer or class-related purposes
  • a large all-purpose community room with a kitchenette for school lunches, receptions, assemblies, and events
  • an athletic department suite with two changing rooms, equipment storage, and adjoining offices
  • a large greenspace for students to enjoy fresh air between classes and during gym
  • the beautiful, historic oratory at Holy Name Heights for all-school Masses
  • a convenient location for visits from our dear Bishop Hying during the academic year

With the dedication of our new oratory within the walls of St. Ambrose Academy came a new opportunity to name the space in honor of a saintly role model. St. Ambrose leadership solicited suggestions and feedback from students, faculty, and staff before determining the name of the new St. Ambrose oratory: the St. Joan of Arc Oratory. St. Joan was a young woman, similar in age to our students, and her heroic witness and faithfulness to the Lord is an inspiration for all people, young and young at heart.

We are truly blessed at being able to welcome students into this beautiful new space! We look forward to inviting our community, prospective parents, and benefactors to see this space, which will have an immeasurable impact on many young people for decades to come. St. Ambrose, pray for us!
