Claire Koenigsknecht joins St. Ambrose Academy with a passion for classical education, literature, music, and the humanities. Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Claire attended Trinity School at Greenlawn, where the classical approach to education profoundly shaped her. She went on to earn a B.A. in History and Music with a minor in Digital Marketing from the University of Notre Dame in 2024.

Claire discovered her love of teaching while substitute teaching at a classical Catholic school during her senior year at Notre Dame. Since then, she has taught literature at Chesterton Academy of Orlando and music and integrated humanities at Trinity Academy South Bend, where she even had the privilege of teaching three of her younger siblings (she’s the oldest of seven!).

Claire brings a deep appreciation for the formative power of education and the humanities. “Reading these books in school gave me a window into myself, the nature of God and his creation, the universality of the human experience, and an enriched perspective on life that I have carried with me and built upon in adulthood,” she said. “I love teaching because it gives me the opportunity to guide a new generation of young people as they discover these things for themselves through the lens of the humanities.”

Outside the classroom, Claire enjoys singing, dancing, acting, reading, and writing. She studied classical vocal performance at Notre Dame, performed with the Notre Dame Chorale, and has a longtime love of dance and musical theater. She is also an aspiring historical fiction writer and enjoys traveling to places rich in history. Claire recently married her husband, a UW-Madison law student, and is excited to become part of the St. Ambrose community! Welcome, Claire!
