Hello Parents,
Thank you for your interest in our Spring Sports Media Day. Please be sure to read the entire email and/or forward it on to your student-athlete, as it contains lots of important info about our media day. If there are any parents who would be interested in helping me on the day, I’d love the help just moving the kids through.
Cost
No cost! I have found a generous donor who has offered to cover the entire cost of this photoshoot, including the photographers’ space, time, and editing. So, there is no cost to you! And, once we have all the edited photos, we will make them available to you!

What to Wear?
Please wear your full game day / race day uniform. These photos are meant to depict you on game day, so please be ready. I realize that this photoshoot is occurring a couple weeks before your practice is even set to begin, which makes this challenging. See below instructions for each sport:
Track & Field – You will wear the St. Ambrose cross country uniforms for this photoshoot. You can pick them up from school the week of March 10th. Talk to Ms. Myers about this.
Girls Soccer – I am working on getting the soccer uniforms from MCDS, and hopefully you will be able to pick them up at St. Ambrose the week of March 10th. But please also be ready with shin guards, shoes, soccer socks, and cleats for the photoshoot.
Boys Golf – We won’t have uniforms for you in time. Please wear: white polo and khaki-colored pants. Bring a golf hat, a couple golf balls, and your clubs.
Boys Baseball, Girls Softball, and Boys Tennis – Please reach out to your coach and ask if you can borrow a uniform for the photoshoot. If that will not work out, you can wear your practice gear.
What to Bring?
In addition to your full game day uniform, feel free to bring whatever other props you would like to include in your photos. Google “media day” and your sport for some ideas, or see the link below for samples of media day photos to give you some ideas. But, here are some I’ve seen:
Track – bring a couple pairs of running shoes, track spikes, a hurdle, a track baton, starting blocks, a flag, a cowboy hat, a tiara (?), sunglasses
Soccer – soccer cleats, soccer ball, cowboy hat, a tiara (?)
Golf – golf clubs, golf balls
Baseball/Softball – glove, hat, bat, baseball, softball, sunglasses
Tennis – racket, tennis balls
Do You Have Examples of What This Is Supposed to Look Like?
If you’re new to the whole “media day” phenomenon, just google it, and you’ll see lots of examples. I have also begun compiling lots of examples that I’ve found online from various colleges:
Please do take a look online and/or in this Google Drive folder for some ideas for poses. If every athlete has some ideas ready to go, this process can go much quicker.
What If I Have Questions?
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My cell phone number is included below.
Thanks,
