Junior High students (6th-8th) have normal school hours this Friday (8:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.), though the school day will be filled with sessions on new hobbies, skills, and experiences.

Dress code is SAA Spirit Wear, like what we wear on Wednesdays. Please send students with a lunch as normal.

Thank you to our parent volunteers who have offered to lead these sessions! We’re excited to show you what our students learn.

Life Skills Day

Do you have a neat skill you’d be able to share with the St. Ambrose Junior High students?

On Fri., Jan. 19, the Junior High will have a Life Skills day. We began this tradition last year when the Seniors were on their March for Life field trip to Washington D.C. and the 9th -11th graders went on retreat, and it is a wonderful way for our younger students to learn new skills and hobbies!

We’d like to offer the students an opportunity to learn some wood carving, carpentry, sewing, knitting, decorating cookies, weight training, calligraphy, cord rosary making, etc. but we need your help! Do you have any practical skill that you would be willing to teach students? Students will be in groups of 10, though you can specify if you are able to take 20 at a time.

Please contact Ms. Behrens if you are interested and available! Thank you!

Your daughter is invited to attend and celebrate our volleyball season with a final gathering! Please bring your washed red SMG jersey and give to Coach Schell.

A special thank you to Audrey Gonnering for volunteering (and mom for agreeing) to host the end-of-season party at their home on Sunday, November 19th from 3:00-5:30pm. Please consider a $5 donation for pizza.

We made such huge strides this season and as coaches we are so proud of the work you put into the practices and games. Thank you parents for your commitment and support, too! Enjoy a few weekends free! – Coach Schell and Coach Grace

Dress Like a Saint Day! | Tuesday Oct 31

On Tuesday, October 31, we are bringing back our Dress Like a Saint Day!

In honor of the Feast of All Saints, students may come to school dressed as a saint of their choosing. They should also be prepared to tell us about their saint! Modern saints & blesseds are allowed, but a word of warning: Students who use this treat as an opportunity to “dress down” will be given a demerit at the discretion of their teachers. Encourage your student to put together a great costume!

Update: We will end pratice 15 minutes early (4:45p) as the 6th grade team has a home match at 5p and i am coaching them. The Girls are welcome to stay and cheer but they will not have me as a supervisor.

St Maria Goretti gym. Friday practice starts at 3:30p and pick up is 445p. Athletes should come dressed and ready with a water bottle, athletic shoes (!), shorts, teeshirt, kneepads.

The fall diaper drive starts this week and goes until next Thu., Oct. 19. We will be collecting diapers to donate to Babies and Beyond. Diapers can be dropped off in the pack-and-play in the front entryway.

Make sure to write your house on the diapers so they can be credited to your house’s total! House points will be given based on diapers collected. The house that collects the most diapers will get desserts sponsored by Guardians for Life!

Sizes newborn, 1, 2, and 3, as well as pull ups, are needed the most, but all sizes are accepted. Open packages, baby wipes and formula are also accepted.
