Volunteering Support

Badger football gameday volunteers needed!

Since 2019, St. Ambrose Academy has been thrilled to be the exclusive runners of food and beverages in the Varsity Club suites for UW home football games, and now the new south end zone Victory Hall section (at field level) as well.

Stadium concessions are largely staffed by non-profit groups, and the UW athletics program makes a generous donation to our school based on the number of volunteers provided each week. It not only supports terrific fellowship among our volunteer corps, it’s also a fruitful way to earn additional money to sustain and grow the powerful teaching program we have at St. Ambrose.

We’ve seen our donation potential grow to almost $17,500 or more per season when we are fully staffed (which is at least 20 volunteers per home game). The more volunteers, the greater the impact!

This supplemental revenue is a boost to our general fund, but we also now direct half of the proceeds to strengthen our own athletics program as well.

All our welcome to join us! Whether you’re a current/alumni family or mission friend, we can all take satisfaction in knowing that maximizing this opportunity each year ends up strengthening our mission as a top educator in southern Wisconsin – equipping students for a life of excellence in virtue and service, to help restore the glory of Christian civilization & advance the common good.

With typical busy fall schedules, additional helpers are always greatly appreciated!

If you’d like to get involved, THANK YOU! Go Badgers! Go Guardians!

Volunteer Details:

  • The UW requires volunteers to be 16 or older.
  • Deliver food and beverages to about 300 spectators from shortly before game start until the end of the third quarter in the comfort of a temperature-controlled suite. Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate a few stairs for a period of several hours at a time.
    • We do not set up or clean up a concessions stand as is typical inside the stadium. We do not enter orders, handle payments, or prepare food or drinks. We were informed when we started: “It’s the best concessions job in the stadium!”
  • Arrive to Camp Randall 3 hours before game time and depart shortly after the 4th quarter starts. (Though you can stay and watch the 4th quarter if you like.) We encourage you to find free street parking near the stadium, but be sure if the street sign says “No Parking” that it also says “Except Saturday.” You can likely find street parking to the east of Monroe St, somewhere between the stadium and Henry Vilas Zoo. See this map for a rough idea. This will be several blocks away, so allow 15 minutes for walking time to the stadium, and report to the volunteer station in the Shell.
  • Receive a free meal after our shift, and water/soda throughout the game.

2024 home games needing volunteers:
