Joye Hellenbrand is excited to join the St. Ambrose Academy community, where she looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and fellow staff members while placing Christ at the center of everything she does. Joye wears multiple hats at St. Ambrose, serving as an Academic Advisor Administrative Assistant, Pre-Algebra Teaching Assistant, and Front Desk Administrative Assistant. She earned her degree in Early Childhood to Middle Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in the spring of 2023. Following graduation, she taught at Blessed Trinity Catholic School for three years, working with students in grades three through six.
Originally from the countryside near Lodi, Wisconsin, Joye grew up in a close-knit Catholic family with her parents and older sister, Hailey. She recently made Waunakee her home and has enjoyed becoming part of the local community.
Joye is passionate about helping students grow both academically and spiritually. Through her experience teaching in a Catholic school, she has witnessed the lasting impact of an education that forms not only the mind but also the heart. She believes one of the greatest joys of Catholic education is helping students develop a personal relationship with God while equipping them with the knowledge and virtues they need to flourish. She was drawn to St. Ambrose because of the emphasis “on holistic and Christ-centered education, high-quality engaging instruction, and a professional team of staff who have a strong desire to excel.”
Outside the classroom, Joye enjoys living an active lifestyle. She plays volleyball, slow-pitch softball, and pickleball, recently completed a sprint triathlon, and teaches Zumba classes. Her love for serving others extends beyond the classroom through her involvement with Love Begins Here, where she has volunteered for four summers and served as a core team member. Joye is grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing her faith and enthusiasm for learning with the St. Ambrose community.
