Welcome Mr. Andy Bergquist!
Originally from Sun Prairie, Andy Bergquist joins the St. Ambrose Academy faculty this fall with a heart for Christ-centered education and a love for learning.
A graduate of UW–Eau Claire, Andy studied Applied Mathematics and Statistics, with minors in Computer Science and Actuarial Studies. He brings a rich background of youth ministry and leadership from his summers working at Camp Gray, where he was deeply impacted by the mission, “To know Christ and make Him known” – a mission he is excited to continue living out at St. Ambrose.
Andy’s love of Catholic education is rooted in its ability to form students not just academically, but spiritually and intellectually, teaching them to think for themselves and to seek truth. He has led a men’s Bible study/small group at his college Newman Center and served in youth faith formation at a nearby parish.
When he’s not teaching, you’ll likely find Andy on the basketball court, hiking a trail, slacklining, or enjoying a good game of cribbage or chess. He’s also a self-proclaimed movie buff and is an especially big fan of The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. A fun recent milestone: he just became a first-time uncle!
Andy is looking forward to getting to know the students and families at St. Ambrose and is excited for a year of both teaching and personal growth. Welcome to the community, Mr. Bergquist!
