Liz Frias

Learning Coach

“I see so much potential in every 6th grader student I encounter and to be able to encourage them and help walk them through this transitional year is a joy.”

St. Ambrose welcomes Mrs. Liz Frias back in a new role: Learning Coach! Mrs. Frias previously worked as the school secretary for three years before departing to raise her two young children. She and her husband Brad have lived in the Madison area since meeting in college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. They have made Madison’s east side home, enjoy taking family walks to the neighborhood ice cream shop, exploring local parks, and being a part of the Immaculate Heart of Mary community in Monona. You can also find Mrs. Frias voraciously reading books in her free time – likely three or four at the same time!

As a Learning Coach within the Learning Services Department, Mrs. Frias’ role is to take the sixth-grade class under her wing and provide extra support for these students as they make the transition into not only junior high, but the St. Ambrose Academy community as well.

She joins them in their study halls to be available for academic-related questions and support, in addition to helping encourage skills of executive functioning including planning, prioritizing, and learning the ways they can be successful during their time at St. Ambrose Academy.

She loves working with these young students, who are so endearing and energetic and looks forward to helping the school community of St. Ambrose thrive all the more. Welcome back, Mrs. Frias!
