Given by Dr. John Joy, St. Ambrose Academy Dean of Faculty and Religion teacher:

St. John the Evangelist is symbolized by the eagle because of the soaring heights of contemplation revealed in his writings. The Gospel of John is full of depth and symbolizing revolving around the number seven, which signifies completion or perfection. The opening chapters parallel the seven days of creation in Genesis; there are seven feast days and seven miracles, culminating in the ultimate miracle of the Resurrection and the new feast of Easter. Come and experience the joy of entering more deeply into the Mystical Gospel.

Given by Dr. Geoffrey Ludvik, St. Ambrose Academy History teacher:

The Dark Ages are often considered a low point in the history of European civilization but this view doesn’t take into account historical evidence, especially from the Middle East. This talk will focus on the achievements of civilization following the collapse of Rome, centered in the Eastern Mediterranean with a focus will be on the Byzantine world and Islamic Civilization. We will be discussing this topic using archaeological sites at which Dr. Ludvik has worked.

Given by Ms. Katie Behrens, St. Ambrose Academy English teacher:

Join Ms. Katie Behrens for a talk on objective and subjective qualities in many art forms, the purpose of learning more about the forms, and the training of one’s taste. There may or may not be a discussion of pro-wrestling involved. (You heard us!)

Kick back and relax at the home of Patrick and Executive Director Joan Careys’ home after making it through the first week! Leave the kids at home and enjoy an evening with fellow parents. Wine and non-alcoholic options plus simple charcuterie will be provided.

Unite our intentions by praying the rosary with other parents in the oratory. Please enter through the side door of the oratory to keep the hallways clear on the first day of school.

A brief period of intercessory prayer will take place from 8:00-8:10am after the rosary. Parents are welcome to continue socializing outside of school after the time of prayer is over!
