Get ready to get your hands dirty and become a scientist, farmer, chef, and taster for a week!

We will approach our themes from all sorts of angles, with many hands-on experiments, a visit to a farm, learning about soil and the critters in them, and tracing the path from soil to ice cream. Learn to put skills acquired to the test in the field.

Summer workshops are a fantastic way to engage the mind and keep boredom at bay this summer for any student entering 5-9th grade. Workshop is held 10 AM – 2 PM daily.

REGISTER

Visit www.ambroseacademy.org/workshops for a more detailed description of each workshop and to register.

COST

Attend one Summer Workshop for $200/student or register for BOTH weeks for $350/student!

Join St. Ambrose Academy for a faculty speaker event featuring Ms. Theresa Klinkhammer, SAA religion teacher and Director of Student Ministries. Ms. Klinkhammer will share a talk based on a text that is a part of our senior high religion curriculum and is especially timely for Catholics who want to incorporate their faith more into their daily lives.

Blessed Columba Marmion was a leader of the liturgical renewal in the early 20th century. His book, Christ in His Mysteries, shows how we enter into the mysteries of Christ’s life by living liturgically.

This talk will first delve into Marmion’s thought concerning participation in Christ’s mysteries and then explore this idea through looking at the power of the propers of the Mass, especially those of the Easter season.

Flyer

Tickets are $20 (cash only) at the door. If this is a hardship, please contact Vickie Manke.

Music, dancing, door prizes, photo booth, and light refreshments will be enjoyed! Post-prom ice cream sundae and walking taco stations will be available from 10:30-11:00pm.

Students may bring a guest, but will need to see the attached flyer above for obtaining appropriate permission. A guest ticket may be purchased at the door (cash only).

Students must have parental permission to leave the dance early.

No outside water bottles or backpacks will be allowed. Students should be mindful about their attire, behavior, and how they represent St. Ambrose Academy. Chaperones have the right to remove any student from the event if their behavior does not represent St. Ambrose Academy well.

Spiritual Bouquet for Bishop Hying! If you cannot attend, you’re still encouraged to contribute prayers for Bishop Hying! Each year our community offers prayers in support of our shepherd, as we unite our work to the work of the Diocese and Holy Mother Church. Email Carolyn the number and type of prayer (Rosaries, Masses, Chaplets of Divine Mercy, days of fasting, etc…) to be included.

Volunteers Needed! In-person events also mean in person help is needed to welcome all our guests and create a memorable event for them! Check the Sign-Up Genius to sign up to help before, during, or after the fun.

We also would appreciate having 1-2 parent volunteers to help serve the rolls during lunch time on Tuesday, November 23.

St. Ambrose Senior High Homecoming Dance Flyer

Homecoming Dance SignUp Genius

We are pleased to share that the St. Ambrose Academy Homecoming Dance will take place from 7:00-10:30pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Parish Fellowship Hall (2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, WI 53528). DJ Vaughn will be showing off his musical styling talents! The cost is $15 cash at the door, but contact Vickie Manke (vmanke@charter.net) if the cost is a financial hardship for your student. Please see the attached flyer with all the information.

Please bring a mask since the dance is being held indoors in Dane County, per Dane County’s emergency order. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Parents are working hard to make sure the Homecoming Dance is a lot of fun for all the students, and we need your help! From coordinating decorations to dropping off cases of water, there are opportunities to lend a hand. Note: This event is parent-organized. As such, your donations are greatly appreciated, but do not count toward school volunteer hours. However, parents helping on-site are able to earn service hours toward their family’s goal. Please review the SignUp Genius link above to help.

If you have any questions about the dance or how you can help, please contact Vickie Manke at vmanke@charter.net or 608-206-4003.

St. Ambrose students may bring a guest to the dance. All guests must go through Stacy Mayo. Without an invitation from a student and permission through Stacy, guests will not be allowed in. If you plan to bring a guest, please be sure to get the required form for non-SAA attendees taken care of ASAP!

Students and guests who attend the dance will not be granted re-admission if they choose to leave the dance before the stated end-time of 10:30pm. Please do not leave the dance until you are ready to leave for the night.

Thank you so much!
